Triad Productions

Call us Triad.

Our goal is simple. We are determined to reach a new generation of theatre-goer. Basically, we want people to see theatre that for whatever reason don't already. There are a million and a half reasons behind why people do or do not see plays and that's terrific;we don't care. We strive to create theatre that will circumvent these excuses by creating genuine human experiences that are significant and insightful. We hope that by doing this we will reach people, people that have yet to realize that they enjoy theatre. We measure our success at the end of each day by raising the bar with what we can accomplish tomorrow; by doing so we hope to help secure theatre as a medium for expression for the next generation. From the plays we choose and the artists we employ to the beers we drink, each decision we make is unified behind reaching that new generation of theatre-goer.

The Complete History of Triad Productions: Abridged

A completely true account falsified by Ryan Ross

An Indian, a white dude, a black guy, Adam and Eve, and a Jew walk into a bar… Every time I begin to tell someone the history of Triad Productions, I’m met with incredulous stares. Yes, it’s true; the beginning of our company story sounds a lot like a terribly tasteless joke. However, there is more to us than booze-fueled revelry and sophomoric bravado. Of course, these are important parts of who we are but as Adam would say, “Its pure numbers”.

In the spring of 2003, founding members Scott Amiotte, Adam Parker, and Ryan Ross were cast opposite each other in Frank McGuiness’ Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me. The three of us couldn’t have been more different and to this day we still joke about why we’re even friends. The one thing we did have in common was a passion for creating meaningful live theatre. Soon after, at university we teamed up with two like-minded individuals, Rich Soublet II and Brendan Cavalier, also on board to help with the irresponsible and harebrained scheme of starting a theatre company. Again, we all questioned why we were friends and again attributed it to our affinity for beer and creating good theatre.

Upon graduating from University in the summer of 2006, sitting in a dirty garage with a broken pool table, we began to map out the plans for our company. From the very beginning, it has been tricky and often times excruciating to balance five assertive personalities. I would like to thank beer for helping to smooth out our rough edges. The one thing we could all agree on from the start was that we wanted to reach a new generation of theatre-goer. We wanted people to see plays that either hadn’t before or had written them off in the past. We wanted to show people that there was more to theatre than androgynous figures singing piss-poor show tunes and half-assed Neil Simon productions. We wanted to make theatre more accessible and relevant to our generation.  Upon that agreement, we decided the worlds first view of what the Triad Boys are about would be John Patrick Shanley's  Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.  After attending Danny Eve Parker's (Adam's sister) passion for the arts was re-charged and decided to join in the fun.

Now amidst the middle of our first season, the Triad pandemic is on it's way to create what it was founded to be, a place where young people can watch their stories, cry with us, laugh with us, and hopefully reflect on what they've seen.

The Triad logo is not a “tramp stamp” but rather symbolizes the three-fold nature of fate. A random chain of events coupled with a series of good and bad decisions has resulted in Triad Productions. As a company we strive to uncover small moments of perfection in an otherwise imperfect world. We owe a great debt to our friends and families for ignoring our flaws and supporting our passion.

" I regard the Theatre as the Greatest of all artforms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what is to be a human being"
