William Shakespeare's Othello

The roles of Othello and Iago are cast. Casting for the following major roles*:

Desdemona

Cassio

Roderigo

Emilia
Brabantio/Gratiano

+ Several Minor Characters

*There will be doubling of characters

Production Details

Othello will open Friday January 7th and perform Thurs-Sundays. Closes February 4th. Thurs-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm. There will be one Monday industry night performance and two high school matinee performances (Times TBD commensurate on availabiltiy).

Rehearsals will begin the first week of November. There will be two read thrus and a few cast workshops prior to the official start of rehearsals.

Rehearsals will not be conducted on major holidays.

Auditions

Seeking all types/ages. Physical/ flexible actors preferred. Stage combat experience a plus. STRONG SHAKESPEARE BACKGROUND PREFERRED.

Auditions are Sunday September 18th from Noon - 7pm at the Tenth Avenue Theatre. For auditions please prepare a 2 minute classical monologue (Comedic or dramatic) and have a current headshot and resume. To request an audition time slot please contact

Not all requests for auditions will be granted. Callbacks will be Sunday September 25th and Monday September 26th from 5-10pm. Loc TBD
